Lina Mayorga is a sustainable vegan fashion designer and advocate graduated from Parsons The New School for Design with a BFA in fashion design. Born in Colombia and based in New York City.

Lina Mayorga’s clothing is made with organic, recycling or up-cycled materials and designed with zero waste techniques. No leather, Fur or Silk. The designer’s work is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She wants to break the stereotypes of sustainable clothing.

Lina Mayorga is also the founder of “Fashion Fab News”, a fashion, beauty, fitness blog and social media.

In 2017, Lina Mayorga attended the United Nations conference on the 2030 sustainable development goals and the role young people can play. There, she witnessed a lack of information about the fashion industry.

The designer’s goal was to create a color-blocking graphic collection with the headlines and motifs of the 2030 sustainable goals and adding them to feminine and modern silhouettes. With a juxtaposition between formalwear and sportswear, she wants to inform and promote the goals in the fashion industry.

In September of 2017, Lina Mayorga presented a sustainable womenswear collection in Hong Kong for the Redress Sustainable Design Award. Redress is a Hong Kong-based non-profit organization whose mission since 2007 has been to promote environmental sustainability in the fashion industry. The contest challenges new fashion designers to make an exclusive collection using techniques that are environmentally friendly while avoiding textile waste at all cause. Lina Mayorga was a finalist amongst a record number of applicants impressing the international judging panel of industry experts with her waste-reducing design concepts and her inspiration based on the 2030 United Nation ‘s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The designer is currently developing an extension to the 2030 Development Goals collection.

Customers can find sustainable, exclusive and limited pieces on Lina Mayorga’s website.
